Auguste Grether (17.09.1817-3.01.1897) était connu en tant qu'horloger pour ses ébauches de chronomètres et était un spécialiste du tourbillon. Après son décès, la colonne météorologique a été offerte par ses filles et inaugurée le 2 juillet 1898. Erbaut: 1898
